The Course de l'Escalade in relief: the loops through Geneva's old town, from the Bastions to the Treille, with your name and time engraved under the base.
Every December, the Course de l'Escalade has all of Geneva running through its old town, in memory of the night of 1602. The course starts at Place Neuve, at the foot of the Bastions, climbs alongside the Treille via the Rue de la Croix-Rouge, the climb every runner dreads, before crossing the cobbles around the cathedral hill and dropping back to Place Neuve. On the piece, you finally see what your legs already know: the old town hill, its streets and rooftops packed around the cathedral, and the short climb that hurts so much on the second lap.
Running the Escalade this year? Order before 8 December for delivery by Christmas, with your time from an earlier edition, or give a gift voucher and let them engrave their 2026 time once they have it.
The relief comes from swisstopo elevation data, accurate to the metre; the race line is drawn on top.
