Engadin Ultra Trail: the route
Every July the Engadin Ultra Trail runs through the Upper Engadine, facing the Bernina range, with the finish in Samedan. The EUT102 (102 km, about 5,700 m of climbing) starts at night in Samedan, passes above St. Moritz via Corviglia, reaches Muottas Muragl, crosses the Fuorcla Val Champagna at 2,818 m, the high point, then continues to La Punt and Zuoz, climbs to the Chamanna d'Es-cha and crosses the Fuorcla Gualdauna below Piz Kesch before returning via Bever and Marguns. The 53 km starts in Zuoz, climbs Munt Seja and up to the Chamanna d'Es-cha, then joins the same closing section. The 23 km starts in La Punt-Chamues-ch, follows the Via Engiadina to Bever and finishes along the Padella panorama trail to Samedan. On the race route relief map, the wide Inn valley and its lakes contrast with the passes above. A finisher keepsake from the Engadine, or a gift for trail runners just back from it. The base is engraved with the name, finishing time and date.
The relief comes from swisstopo elevation data, accurate to the metre; the race line is drawn on top. 12 × 12 or 18 × 18 cm, made to order in 7 working days, free delivery in Switzerland.
