Jungfrau-Marathon: the route
Every September the Jungfrau Marathon runs from Interlaken, on the Aare between two lakes, to Kleine Scheidegg at the foot of the Eiger. The first half stays almost flat via Bönigen and Wilderswil; then the course enters the Lauterbrunnen valley, with its sheer cliffs and waterfalls, and starts the climb to Wengen. The last kilometres rise above the forest onto the moraine and finish facing the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, after nearly 2,000 m of climbing.
On the relief you can see at a glance what makes this profile unusual: a road marathon at the start, a mountain race at the finish. A keepsake for anyone who crossed the line at Kleine Scheidegg, or a gift for someone training for it. On the base we engrave the runner's name, finishing time and race date.
The relief comes from swisstopo elevation data, accurate to the metre; the race line is drawn on top. 12 × 12 or 18 × 18 cm, made to order in 7 working days, free delivery in Switzerland.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the route the one from my year?
- We use the route published by the organisers for the 2024 edition. It changes very little from year to year; if your edition had a variant, write to us before ordering.
- What is engraved on the base?
- The race name, your name, your time, the date, the distance and the elevation gain. You see the base before you order.
- Can I give it as a gift?
- Yes. Enter the name, time and date to engrave. If you don't know the time, give the gift voucher: they choose for themselves. CHF 49 for 12 × 12 cm, CHF 69 for 18 × 18 cm, free delivery in Switzerland.
