Swiss Alps 100: the route
In early August the Swiss Alps 100 brings long-distance runners to Fiesch in the Goms valley. The 160 km (about 10,150 m of climbing) and the 100 km (about 6,250 m) are two loops starting and finishing in Fiesch. The course runs through the region of the Great Aletsch Glacier, the longest in the Alps, and crosses striking suspension bridges over the local gorges. High balcony trails, Upper Valais villages and larch forests follow one another through day and night on the same line. The race route relief map shows the upper Rhône valley, the ridges above it and the glacier tongue; your loop reads at a glance, every climb included. A finisher keepsake that matches the scale of a 100 km or 100-mile day, and a gift for trail runners who have completed either one. The base carries the runner's name, finishing time and date.
The relief comes from swisstopo elevation data, accurate to the metre; the race line is drawn on top. 12 × 12 or 18 × 18 cm, made to order in 7 working days, free delivery in Switzerland.
