UTMB Mont-Blanc: the route
In late August, UTMB week brings runners from all over the world to Chamonix to race around a single massif. The UTMB (174 km, about 9,700 m of climbing) goes all the way round: Les Houches, Les Contamines, the Col du Bonhomme, Courmayeur, the Grand Col Ferret, La Fouly, Champex-Lac, Trient, Vallorcine and La Flégère, then back to Chamonix. The CCC (101 km) starts in Courmayeur and reaches Chamonix via the Val Ferret and Switzerland; the TDS (145 km) links Courmayeur and Chamonix along the western side, via Bourg-Saint-Maurice and the Beaufortain. The OCC (60 km) starts in Orsières and the MCC (40 km) in Martigny-Combe, both finishing in Chamonix. The ETC (15 km) is a loop around Courmayeur, and the PTL (about 300 km) a long team journey, largely off marked trails. On the race route relief map, the Mont Blanc massif rises in the centre and each route approaches it in its own way. A finisher keepsake for a lifetime of running, or a gift for trail runners who crossed the line in Chamonix. The base is engraved with the name, finishing time and date.
The relief is reproduced accurate to the metre; the race line is drawn on top. 12 × 12 or 18 × 18 cm, made to order in 7 working days, free delivery in Switzerland.
