The K54 course, the Scenic Trail’s “Original Trail”, starts in Tesserete in the Capriasca and makes a big loop through the Lugano Pre-Alps. The relief shows the Cassarate valley running down to Lake Lugano and the ridges that frame it up to the Val Colla. The route climbs to 2,176 m on the ridgeline near the Italian border, with a low point of around 430 m: nearly 1,800 m of height difference that reads clearly on the piece. Technical trail without highly exposed sections, raced in June.
