Zermatt Marathon in relief
St. Niklaus → Riffelberg · 42 km · 2'075 m D+
The 42.195 km and 2,075 m of climbing of the Zermatt Marathon as a relief, from St. Niklaus to Riffelberg.
The Zermatt Marathon course runs the full length of the Mattertal, from St. Niklaus up to Riffelberg. The relief shows the first part on the valley floor via Randa and Täsch, alongside the Vispa, up to Zermatt. The second half heads into the mountains: the climb to Sunnegga, then Findeln and Riffelalp, and a final push to Riffelberg facing the Matterhorn. The piece makes the contrast between the narrow valley and the high balconies easy to see. Run in early July.
The relief comes from swisstopo elevation data, accurate to the metre; the race line is drawn on top. On the front band of the base we engrave your name and your time; underneath, the race, the date, the distance and the elevation gain. 12 × 12 or 18 × 18 cm, made to order in 7 working days, free delivery in Switzerland.
