Matterhorn Ultraks Sky 49K in relief
Zermatt · 49 km · 3'600 m D+
The 49 km and 3,600 m of climbing of the Matterhorn Ultraks Sky 49K as a relief, a loop from Zermatt.
The Sky 49K is the longest distance of the Matterhorn Ultraks: a loop from Zermatt that climbs to the Gornergrat at around 3,100 m, one of the toughest sections of the course. The relief shows this high balcony above the Gorner Glacier facing Monte Rosa, then the traverse across to the Matterhorn side. The route passes the Schwarzsee at the foot of the Hörnli ridge before dropping back to Zermatt. On the piece, the loop spans both sides of the valley beneath the Matterhorn’s pyramid. Raced in August.
The relief comes from swisstopo elevation data, accurate to the metre; the race line is drawn on top. On the front band of the base we engrave your name and your time; underneath, the race, the date, the distance and the elevation gain. 12 × 12 or 18 × 18 cm, made to order in 7 working days, free delivery in Switzerland.
